Meanwhile, over at diffusion line 2nd Day, the look is all about day to night dressing which will appeal to a younger customer with less cash to spend per piece. Busy lifestyles equal a work hard, play hard ethos with 50 shades of denim and sequin part dresses all in the frame.
"Orientalism" takes inspiration from palaces in India and Morocco, with swirly patterns on beaded dresses. Sequin tunics, draped evening dresses, sheer separates, a trace of lace and wrap skirts complete the line up. Nude tones prevail here in liquid marble prints, a fresh angle on paisley, as well as bold brush strokes.
"White surf" meanwhile features surf wear inspired separates and sporty beach wear such as a wet suit-like jersey fabric, sarong shapes on trousers and skirts and slouchy sequin T-shirts worn with white cropped jeans. My favourite pieces though had to be the camo jacket and Indian embroidered tunic (as seen below) which took some on the spot styling to pull together, but the end result was well worth it!
Danish label Day Birger et Mikkelsen was established in 1997 and is available to buy in the UK in Harrods, House of Fraser stores, independent boutiques and online.
That 'Hero' piece is pretty amazing! I really like both the collections and it looks like you can mix and match everything which is really awesome!
